The GNCHR at the Winter Law School on “Refugee and Migration Law” of ELSA Komotini

The Greek National Commission for Human Rights (GNCHR) participated with a lecture at the Winter Law School on “Refugee and Migration Law” of ELSA Komotini (25 February-2 March 2026). 

The lecture on 25 February 2026 was entitled “The Legal Status of Refugees under International and European Law” and the GNCHR was represented by Dr. Christos Tsevas, Human Rights Advisor.

The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) is an international, independent, non-political and non-profit organization active in the field of legal science in over 43 European countries and more than 375 Universities internationally, with more than 60,000 members internationally.

ELSA Komotini organizes every year the Winter ELSA Law School (WELS), an international academic event, where participants from all over Europe attend a specialized academic program in a specific legal field, in the English language. Since the academic year 2018-2019, the ELSA Komotini Winter Law School has focused on “Refugee and Migration Law”, seeking to promote human rights and cultivate social sensitivity through lectures and workshops, as well as interactive educational methods. The conference is addressed to students from both Greece and Europe.
