CHRISTINA LAMPROU

Christina Lamprou is a senior public servant of the Secretariat General for Communications and Media from 2008 to date.

She has graduated with honors from the Greek National School of Public Administration (Department of General Administration), while she has graduated with summa cum laude from the Department of Communication and Media of Panteion University. She also holds with honors a MA’s in Communication and Media from the above University and she has graduated with summa cum laude from the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Patras. Until the end of this year, Christina Lamprou will have concluded her 2nd MA’s in Public Law and Public Policy from the University of Athens.

She speaks excellently French and English.

In November 2001 Christina Lamprou was appointed Head of the Department for Audiovisual Affairs of the Directorate for Media to the Secretariat General for Communications and Media, position that she kept until May 2015.

In May, and until 2018, she was appointed as a national expert to the Information Society Department – Media and Internet Division of the Council of Europe, where, inter alia, she dealt with various issues of the international organisation, especially as regards the implementation of Art. 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights with a particular focus on freedom of expression and freedom of the media, the safety of journalists and the protection of journalism, the combat against fake news and disinformation in the digital environment, etc.
